Besixth

A London Based Experiential Agency

The Brief

Besixth is a London based agency, specialised in creating experiential marketing events. They needed to create a brand that was as memorable as the events they put on.

The Solution

We would use the agencies vast catalogue of images as core pillar for the development of the brand.

Deliverables

This project required all design assets, including; logo, colour palette selection, imagery, company credentials, website UI and interactive events calendar UI.

Workflow

//1

Images

We started by sorting through the archives of imagery, looking for those that best showcased the quality of what besixth was all about.

//2

Research

We created moodboards to explore all possibilities for the brand, paying particular attention to how we would incorporate imagery.

//3

Core Branding

Once happy with a general direction we then work up several initial ideas, and continue a process of refinement until we have our core identity.

//4

Deliverables

Now we have the crux of our brand approved, it's time to put in application and start creating the website & creds.

Branding

Logo Design

The Besixth logo is simple, clean & minimal. Designed to work in different colours on a variety of backgrounds, the capitalised font and deliberate kerning gives it prominence on any page, with the varied line weighting creating strong juxtaposition within the logo.

Colour Palette

We created a muted pastel colour palette with tonal variations for each colour, deliberately selecting a combination of warm and cool colours.

Font

For our primary font we used Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk BE. It's a sans serif font that offers a variety of weightings, and it's the combination of these weights we use throughout the brand to add depth and contrast to the page.

Application

We used gradient mapping to introduce our brand colours to the imagery we had. Not only did this look fantastic, but it enabled us to unify large quantities of imagery whilst providing a practical design solution for the brand in the future. This also worked well when paired with the bold graphics and typography choices.

UI

Website

We wanted a clear visual relationship from the company credentials to the  through to the website, which is why when you land on the Besixth homepage, you are met with the same white boarder housing a promotional video. We found this was the perfect way to showcase what Besixth was all about right from the word go. For the website we utilised a 4 column grid, ensuring continuity and structure on every page.This accompanied by the brand colours and filtered photography resulted in a harmonious design that truly reflected the ethos of the brand.

UI Animations

You are met with subtle scrolling animations and interactions that make the whole experience smooth and effortless. These range from full page sliders to dynamic page transitions and precise filtered overlays, carefully placed and used in moderation to create a well rounded and premium feel.

Events Calendar

To generate organic traffic to the site we built an online events calendar. This showcased a variety of  festivals and opportunities for brands to get involved. This proved to be a valuable marketing tool that would capture leads and get potential clients moving through the first stage of the funnel.

Mobile

We kept the fluidity of the desktop site whilst ensuring the performance was still optimal for mobile. We incorporated fullscreen imagery and easy to navigate menus to ensure the user was only ever one click away from what they needed.
